Fuchsia - Thai Cuisine

Situated in Karachi's posh shopping and eatery district, it's a restaurant with a luxurious ambiance -  dim, subtle interior, with light, soothing music playing in the background. It's a formal yet relaxing place to eat out. If you're a fan of trying out different foods, specially Thai, this place is where you should be at. It's menu comprises flavorful modern Thai dishes with a lot to choose from.

Tom Yum soup with lime, lemongrass, straw mushroom and galangal.
Wok fried prawns with sweet basil, oyster sauce, garlic and pepper.

Creamy red thick curry chicken with lime leaf and red chili.

Golden crisp wok fried red snapper, with hot sweet and sour chili sauce.

Starting with the soup, Tom Yum Soup (available in chicken or prawns), simply mouth-watering. After reading what ingredients it contained, the wait was never ending. IT came. The fragrances it brought with it! The lemongrass. Delicious. The soup was perfect. The texture, the taste, the spices, the ingredients. Fresh and perfect. It had the sharpness of the lime and chilies, the blandness of the straw mushrooms - just perfect.

Then came the creamy chicken curry. Which was an absolute delight to eat with steamed rice. Perfectly sour and perfectly sweet. The spicy-ness of the chili, the sourness of the lime and the sweetness of the coconut milk. Delicious. The golden crisp wok fried fish could have been more crispier and more succulent though. The fish itself was a little bland, but when had with the sweet chili sauce it tasted good. Also, the fish felt as if it was a little over-cooked. The prawns however were scrumptious. The BEST part about it was that they were de-veined. This was the first restaurant where I saw and noticed that the prawns were clean and de-veined. I loved the oyster sauce with it and the prawns were cooked to perfection. Not over-cooked, not under-cooked. Perfect amount of sweetness, saltiness and spiciness. It was a very balanced dish considering the taste and the spices. The prices of the dishes was reasonable too. And the serving was good and very fulfilling. It costs around 500-600 per person (depending on what you order) with soup, drink and a main dish and you'll probably end up with some food left-over too. All in all, it's a good place to go and eat out.
